ESL Consultant

The College of Wooster, a national liberal arts institution located in northeast Ohio, invites applications for our Part-time ESL Consultant position. Applicants must have good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Position requires employees to be team-oriented and dependable. Pre-employment testing required.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: provide international students with language instruction and support, cultural orientation, and academic preparation in groups and scheduled one-on-one sessions. Offer group instruction and programs for international students to facilitate the understanding of college level texts. Responsible for developing ESL programs to enhance grammar, reading, listening and speaking, composition and pronunciation. Works with the staff of the Writing Center, Learning Center, Center for Diversity& Global Engagement and the academic deans. Reports to Director of the Learning Center. Knowledgeable in use of computers and related instructional technology. Demonstrate the ability to work collegially with staff and administration.

Qualified applicant will be skilled in adult and college-level ESL instruction and qualified to teach in commonly identified skill areas in language development including content based and integrated sills modalities.
