Campus Dining

Job Description

To help with and maintain the daily operations of the dining halls and their catering services.

Duties may include the following, but not limited to:

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Staff member will be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and balance trays, stoop, kneel, or crouch, talk and hear, taste and smell.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasionally exposed to wet conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, heat and risk of electrical shock. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Server Stations (including beverage bar)

  • Assist with food preparation and customer service.
  • Keep stations stocked with products for service.
  • Maintain the general appearance and sanitation of the server stations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Dining Room

  • Maintain the general appearance and sanitation of the dining room including beverage area, floors, tables, and buffet.
  • Clean and sanitize table tops, straighten chairs, and vacuum the carpet.
  • Refill and replace table centers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Dish Room

  • Will perform the necessary dish room duties required to move dirty dishware through the cleaning and sanitizing process for re-use in the dining room.
  • Will keep the dish room clean and stock dishes and silverware to designated areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Catering

  • Will keep all food stocked on buffet line during buffet service.
  • Serve pated food to customers and/or bus tables during served plated meal service.
  • Clear empty plates, glasses and silverware from guest’s tables.
  • Help with setup before and/or tear down after an event.
  • Gather linen, all china and put into proper containers.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned by the Catering Manager, each event is different.
