Are the residence halls air conditioned?
The majority of our residence halls are not air conditioned. The two residence halls with air conditioning are: Gault Manor and Luce Hall.
Do we need to bring our own sheets and towels?
The Summer Conference Office can provide linen packets when contracted to do so by the group.
What should a camper/conference attendee bring?
We recommend the following suggestions to make your stay more enjoyable:
- Alarm Clock (wake-up calls are not provided)
- Clothes Hangers
- Personal Hygiene Supplies (shower slippers, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, etc.)
- Pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, etc. (if your group has not ordered linen service)
Please note that our twin beds take extra long fitted sheets.
Do guestrooms have phone or internet access?
There are no phones in the guest rooms. All residence hall rooms are wired for internet access. Wireless access is only given to camp/conference directors and staff members.
Are there free public internet services on campus?
Free public internet service is available at Wired Scot in the lower level of Lowry Center. The computer stations in the Wired Scot are available to campers/conference attendees. The Wired Scot is not intended for extended use or gaming. The Wired Scot is open whenever Lowry Center is open.
What are the dining/eating options on campus?
The Campus Dining Services department provides meals and catering. The dining facility is located on the 2nd floor of Lowry Center. It is arranged as a food-court with multiple stations including salad, cereal, and soup. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. Special dietary needs can be pre-arranged with Campus Dining Staff.
- MacLeod's Coffee Bar and Convenience Store: Located on the East end of the Lowry Center Main Lounge, MacLeod's Coffee Bar and Convenience Store offers freshly brewed, locally roasted, Certified Organic & Fair Trade Wooster blend drip coffee, specialty drinks made from rich, locally roasted espresso beans, and a host of convenience store products.
- Mom’s Truckstop: Mom’s is located on the ground floor of Lowry Center and features ala carte grill foods, cold salads, coffee, fruit smoothies, sandwiches, soups, fountain drinks, ice cream, and milk shakes.
What types of meeting spaces are available?
The College has numerous meeting and event rooms, which can seat as few as 10 people or as many as 1,400. Whether your conference calls for a beautiful banquet room, an auditorium, a traditional classroom, a computer lab, or an outdoor venue, we can work with you to identify the perfect meeting space.
Are there recreational facilities available for camps/conferences?
Yes, guests are welcome to use fields, tennis courts and gyms when not booked for camps. During “Open Hours”, campers and attendees are welcome to pay to play at Scot Lanes.
Is there a lost and found location on campus?
The College is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. Guests are encouraged to leave valuable personal items at home. The Summer Conference Office will hold all lost/found items for seven days. After this time, items will be discarded or donated to a local charity. To locate your lost and found item, please contact your camp/conference director or the Summer Conference Office.
Where do we park?
All campus visitors must display a guest parking permit. Please let your group planner know that you will need a parking pass. Parking permits will be issued at registration locations. Parking permit will not be needed if guests are on campus for the day. Guests must follow the College’s parking regulations. Failure to do so may result in ticketing or towing.
Do you have a bookstore?
Yes, we have a great bookstore, the Wilson Bookstore, which is located in Lowry Center. Check it out for some great College of Wooster souvenirs and also, anything that you may have forgotten at home like personal hygiene supplies (shower slippers, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, etc.).
The bookstore is open Monday – Thursday from 8:30am-5:00pm and Fridays from 8:30am-4pm.
What about security on campus?
Our Security and Protective Services is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They patrol around campus. In case of emergency, they can be contacted at 330-263-2590.
