A Little Bit About The Opera
The Ohio Light Opera was founded as a cultural and educational endeavor by The College of Wooster in 1979 and is the only professional company in the United States entirely devoted to operetta, performing not only the entire Gilbert & Sullivan repertoire, but also reviving rarely performed continental works of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Educationally, the company offers young, talented vocalists and instrumentalists the opportunity to perform in a professional setting. Over the years, the Company has produced eighty different operettas and has established an enviable reputation for its contributions to musical theater in America.
