IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. Its goals are to celebrate the benefits of international education and to recognize the global exchange environment between the United States and other countries. On the national level, IEW was first held in 2000, and this year more than 100 countries worldwide are celebrating the ninth annual IEW. We are proud to say that IEW has been celebrated at the College of Wooster for more than 30 years. The first festival was initiated by Foreign Language faculty in the 1970’s.
