Name: Katherine Kelly
Hometown: Cincinnati, OH
Class Year: 2011
Major/Minor: Cultural Area Studies – East Asia Minor
Extracurricular Activities: Peace by Peace
Favorite Free Time Activity: In my free time I like to read, talk to my friends who do not go to Wooster, and hang out with friends who I have made since coming here. I also like to watch TV and relax in my free time. I like to go to concerts and running. I also like going hiking in the woods.
Favorite Lowry Food: At Lowry I like to make Root-Beer Floats. I also love the blueberry pancakes because they are better than the ones I used to eat at home.
Advice for Incoming First-Year Students: Make the most of Orientation Week. It really is the easiest time to make friends and to become accustomed to life at Wooster. Also, don’t be afraid to engage in different events and organizations. Even if you think you know what you want to major in it is always good to take a variety of classes and look for ones you enjoy.
Favorite Wooster Memory: There are so many memories that I am fond of. I remember during Orientation week how nervous I was and luckily I met a very outgoing person who is now the friend who I spend the most time with. Although it was tiring, filling Kauke Arch with snow is another memory that I will never forget because all the students came together as a collective, and even though we didn’t get the next day off, there was a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie.
