Course Description
- This course will investigate the classical mechanics of particles and systems. We will investigate Newtonian mechanics, oscillations, the gravitation potential, Hamilton's Principle, Central-force motion, and systems of particles. If time permits, we will introduce dynamics of rigid bodies, coupled oscillations and the special theory of relativity. This course aims to acquaint students with the classical mechanical systems in such a way that the transition to quantum theory of physics can be made with the least amount of difficulty.
