Youth today love to volunteer. Some by acting locally, some by acting globally, and others acting now and then as it suits them. What ways should people get involved? What is sustainable service? What are real ways to help, not just resume boosters? What are some resume boosters, and why? Is travelling to Africa to learn about problems there the best use of your time and resources? Are there things you can do locally? Should we encourage faith-based service, or is that imposing world view and creating barriers? We will think about the economic, social and environmental impact of various kinds of service. We will try to find way(s) in which we can serve someone, something or some cause during the term and capture our experiences. We will be reading, discussing and writing about a variety of service issues.
