Prerequisites
Biology. Students ordinarily satisfy this requirement if they've taken a
one-year course in biology that stressed molecular and quantitative concepts.
Courses in anatomy, taxonomy, botany and ecology will not satisfy this
requirement.
Chemistry (through organic). Students normally meet this requirement if
they've completed a one-year course in basic chemistry and a one-year course
in organic chemistry. Other sequences, and courses that included
organic/biologic chemistry content, are acceptable, too.
Basic physics. Students generally satisfy this requirement if they've
taken a one-year course in physics.
Writing skills. Students typically meet this requirement if they've taken an
introductory course in expository writing. The committee will consider other
courses that required extensive writing, however.
Biochemistry. A course in biochemistry is required of all students
applying to the College Program and highly recommended for those applying to
the University Program.

Admissions Standards
The MCAT is required, and scores should be from within the past three years.
Ohio residents are given preference. Although no courses are specified,
applicants are expected to have the knowledge usually gained in a one year
lecture and laboratory course in Biology, General Chemistry, Organic
Chemistry, Physics, and Math. Applicants are expected to have an undergraduate
preparation that provides insight into behavioral, social, and cultural
issues. Academically, applicants are evaluated based on the following: GPA;
MCAT scores; and undergrad, graduate, and post-bacc achievement. Personal
qualities are strongly considered and applicants should demonstrate
motivation, maturity, coping skills, leadership abilities, interpersonal
skills, sensitivity and tolerance, and good communication skills.
