PRESHCO
Programa de Estudios Hispánicos en Córdoba
Academic Offerings
| PRESHCO offers two primary curricular options to choose from: (1) program courses taught by Spanish faculty for PRESHCO students and (2) direct-matriculation in conventional Spanish university courses offered at the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras or another division of the University of Córdoba. Normally, students are required to take at least one offering in the second format. | ![]() |
Program courses are listed in the PRESHCO brochure. Course texts and instructional materials for program courses are provided by the program. Recognizing that students may bring with them different levels of Spanish fluency and varying degrees of background in terms of the various subject matters offered, PRESHCO identifies each semester approximately ten University of Córdoba courses—within the hundreds of possibilities offered by the UCO—that are highlighted as enhanced direct-matriculation offerings. In these courses, program students participate in the regular meetings of the course with Spanish peers, but are also offered preliminary, introductory course sessions, together with an additional weekly meeting with the instructor (or his or her designate) to cover important terminology and background and for further discussion and analysis of course material. A list of selected enhanced conventional courses taken by PRESHCO students in the past include can be found in the PRESHCO brochure. A stipend is allotted for materials for conventional university courses when necessary.
