Assignments:
1. Attend all classes. Participate fully in discussions, having
read the material beforehand. There will be short writing exercises
or quizes in most classes.
2. To repeat, read the material before the class period in which the
material is discussed.
3. Keep a journal. Write down all that you discover in studying
this topic and researching your term paper. Turn it in every Thursday and
get it back Friday.
4. At the end of the term you will be an expert on some violent episode
in history. You will demonstrate the development of this expertise in different
ways.
a. you will collect and organize different materials
into an annotated bibliography related to your topic
b. you will write and revise a 15-25 page term paper
on your topic.
c. you will give a class presentation on your topic.
Your grade will reflect the quality of your performance on all of the
above.
