Departmental Honors, Awards and Prizes
Departmental Honors is conferred on seniors with at least a 3.6 in the major, 3.2 overall, and Honors on their I.S. (Exceptions made only by unanimous departmental vote.)
The Departmental Excellence Award is given to the senior earning the highest g.p.a. in the major.
The J. Arthur Baird Prize to the student demonstrating the greatest aptitude in the area of New Testament studies.
The Swan Prize Fund to student(s) for outstanding work in the field of social ethics.
L.Gordon Tait Scholarship to a senior RS major/minor who has taken a broad range of courses in religion and demonstrated outstanding academic ability at Wooster.
Paul De Witt Twinem Bible Award given at graduation to the senior RS major with the highest overall g.p.a. and who has the highest grade in a minimum of one introductory and one advanced course in Bible.
The Maud Knight Prize to a junior who has excelled in academic studies and who plans to pursue a vocation in religion.
The Ralph A. Young Scholarship to a junior RS major who demonstrates financial need, and has an outstanding academic record and is active in co-curricular activities.
