Our Students

A painting of a sandpainting that students prepared Every year we typically have over thirty majors/minors. The department plans various opportunities for students and faculty to meet in informal discussions, such as lunch at Lowry dining hall, faculty and student research-in-progress talks, and sponsoring guest speakers. This time allows you to meet other students in the department, and meet the faculty on a more casual level. Our majors are diverse in interests and background, and many participate in travel/study opportunities around the world.

After graduation, our majors and minors pursue a wide range of occupations and graduate school options, including careers in social service, medicine, law, international relations, ministry/religious vocations, and business. Many alumni comment on how useful the critical thinking and comparative study skills gained in religious studies classes at Wooster are in enhancing and shaping personal and professional lives, and in building a foundation of respect, tolerance, and understanding for others.
