Kyokushin Wooster is an Official Dojo of the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan (IKO), under the direct supervision of IKO International Department Director, Shihan Katsuhito Gorai, Black Belt 6th Dan. Kyokushin Wooster is operated with full-fledged Kyokushin Karate activities, such as – Kyu Promotion Tests, Camps, Training Seminars etc. established in early Fall 2012 under Kyokushin Karate Wooster Licensed Dojo Operator & Head Instructor, Sempai Fahim Aziz, Black Belt 1st Dan.

Kyokushin kaikan is a style of stand-up, full contact karate, founded in 1964 by Sosai Masutatsu Oyama. Kyokushinkai, when translated into Japanese, reads as "the society of the ultimate truth". The roots of Kyokushin kaikan stem from a philosophy of self-improvement, discipline and laborious training. Its full contact style has led to widespread international appeal and over 12 million have practiced it over the past 40 years in over 120 countries.

We have training sessions 6 times a week in the aerobics studio in the basement of the Scot Center, and will have semiannual belt promotion tests that give you access to higher level karate belts that are recognized by thousands of dojos around the world. We will also have exciting winter- and summer training camps; participating in the Wooster dojo means that you become part of a unique new community on campus, and will set you on the path of discovering an inner self that you never even thought of.

No previous experience is necessary.
