Setting up the connection |
- Wireless network cards on Macintosh computers are called AirPort cards. To access the AirPort configuration, from the Apple menu open System Preferences and click Network. Click on the arrow next to Show and from the drop down list select Airport.

- At the bottom of the window, make sure there is a check mark in “Show airport status in menu bar.” Click on Apply Now to activate those settings.
NOTE: If you are running OS 10.3, remove the check mark from "allow this computer to create networks."
- Click on the drop down for Show again and select Network Status. Highlight Airport in the bottom portion of the window.

- Click on the Connect button at the bottom of the window and this will open Internet Connect. You will see the Airport window. Click Turn AirPort On.

- At the top of the screen, click on the File menu and select New 802.1x Connection to create a new wireless profile.

- In the 802.1x window, click on the Configuration drop down menu and choose Edit Configurations.

- Enter the description of ScotZone and be sure your Network Port is AirPort. Enter your user name and password. This is everything before the @ symbol in your email address and your email password.

- Under Wireless network, select ScotZone from the drop down menu or type it in (it is case sensitive).
- Under Authentication, remove the checkmarks from everything except LEAP.
- Click OK and you should see the information transfer to the 802.1x window. Click Connect and you will see your computer connect in the bottom left corner of the window.

- Once connected you can see your signal strength under the airport icon in your menu bar. You can close the network preference window, System Preferences, Internet Connect and begin using the wireless network.
- The next time you want to use the wireless network, simply select ScotZone from the AirPort icon at the top of your screen. If it does not connect, go to Open Internet Connect, select the 802.1x lock, and click Connect at the bottom of the window.
