In Professor Alison Schmidt's Spring 2006 class on the Theories & Practicies in Teaching Reading students were asked to create digital stories on their early reading experiences and how those experiences would help them teach reading. Why? To get the students to engage the material in a different way than they are used to and thus to gain a better understanding. Almost all of the students felt that they reflected much more on their experiences in this project than they would have with the traditional paper. This page contains the movies produced by the students. All materials are Copyright the College of Wooster 2006.

iMovie was used to create the video files. Students were asked to collect their own ambient sounds and images. Students had training sessions on the use of iMovie and several classroom discussions about what they were trying to produce.
