Installing Endnote X for Mac

Introduction

This document explains how to install Endnote X on a Macintosh system. Endnote X is a site license available for students, faculty and staff. Endnote X is currently Keyserved.

Installing the Keyserver Client
  1. Navigate to http://www.wooster.edu/technology/resources/software/ and choose the KeyServer Client for MacOS X. (IF you have a LAPTOP, you need to download the KeyServer Client for laptops).
  2. When you click on the type of system you have, you will be prompted to enter your user name and password.
  3. Once you enter your information, a file named "K2Client.mpkg" will be downloaded to your desktop. It should look like this:
  4. Double Click on the K2Client.mpkg file and it will launch the KeyServer Client installer.
  5. Click continue, select your hard drive, and click continue again.
  6. Click the Install button and the installer will ask you for your computer password. This is NOT your email password; this is the password you use to log into your computer.
  7. After installing the software, it will prompt you to restart your computer.
Installing Endnote X
  1. Go to http://www.wooster.edu/technology/resources/software/ to download the Endnote X installer package.
  2. Open the file you have downloaded, it should be on the desktop, and run the EndnoteX-OSX-ks.pkg installer by double clicking on it.
  3. Click the continue button through the install screens. Then click install.
  4. When it is finished installing, click Restart to exit the installer and restart your computer.
  5. You may now delete all of the files that you have downloaded to your desktop.
