Scots beat Case at Progressive Field, fall to Heidelberg

     The Wooster Fighting Scots saw their five-game winning streak snapped this past Wednesday at home as the bats of Heidelberg Student Princes came alive late to beat Wooster 9-2.



Ultimate frisbee advances to regionals

     The College of Wooster’s women’s ultimate frisbee team, Betty Gone Wild, finished with a 5-2 record and a third-place finish at the annual sectional tournament. Finishing in the top five allowed the team to qualify for the 16-team Great Lakes Regional tournament, held in Detroit tomorrow.



Track teams compete at Kenyon Classic

     This past Saturday, April 19, the Fighting Scot track and field team participated in the Kenyon Classic. Wooster was among nine schools that competed at the meet. The women’s team finished in fifth place with a total of 66 points and the men’s team finished in sixth with a total of 67.



The Lineup Goodbye to all 10 of my readers

     Well, the time has finally come. This is my last column of the year, and since I passed orals, I’m fairly certain that “The Lineup” will be retired after this week. My time as a columnist has left me with many fond memories: fighting deadlines, avoiding obvious stories, waxing poetic on issues like penguins and bunnies, insulting Sox fans, receiving death threats from said fans; I couldn’t ask for more.



Women’s lax in title contention

     The North Coast Atlantic Conference is not an easy conference to compete in — many sports face stiff competition from every member of the NCAC throughout their seasons. One of those sports is women’s lacrosse, which has seen four teams vie for the first place spot year after year.



Men’s lacrosse rallies for NCAA tournament berth

     Since dropping an 11-7 decision to Ohio Wesleyan University (7-5, 3-1), The College of Wooster (10-2, 1-2) men’s lacrosse team has rattled off four-straight wins, pushing their season total to 10.
