Vice President for Academic Affairs: Iain
Crawford The Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer of the College. Directly reporting to the office are: the Dean of the Faculty; Dean of Students; Art Museum; Athletics; Center for Creativity and Innovation; International and Off-Campus Programs; Learning Center; Libraries; Registrar; Student Research; Faculty Research and Grants; Nursery School; Writing Center; Assessment; Lilly Project; and Summer Session. Iain Crawford, Vice President for Academic Affairs, is a native of Britain who has lived in the United States since 1984. After completing his undergraduate degree in English and Greek Civilization at the University of Leeds, he taught in Finland and then began graduate work on Charles Dickens under the direction of Professor Philip Collins at the University of Leicester. For the five years between 1979 and 1984 he taught at the University of Osijek in the former Yugoslavia. After spending a year teaching at the University of Alabama and then ten years at Berry College in Georgia, he became Chair of English at Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts and then Dean of Liberal Arts at the University of Southern Indiana. He joined Wooster in July 2003, serving as Vice President and holding an appointment as Professor of English. The Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Dean of the Faculty are both located on the First Floor of Galpin Hall.
