How to Create/Use a Mail Form

Web services will continue to support FormMail.pl as the mail program on the new Web server. For complete documentation on FormMail.pl, print out the following PDF file:

» FormMail.pl DocumentationPDF

or visit: http://www.scriptarchive.com/readme/formmail.html

There are two things that must be in place in order for your FormMail.pl to work.

  1. Your form path must be: <FORM ACTION="http://scripts.wooster.edu/cgi-bin/formmail.pl" METHOD="post">. This will work on all your forms, regardless of where you place them in your folder (you may also use FormMail.pl on your personal pages).
  2. You must specify an email address in the form. For example: <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="recipient" value="webmaster@wooster.edu">. More information can be found in the FormMail.pl DocumentationPDF.

(Note: If you haven't done so already, please change your FORM ACTION path on your Web forms to "http://scripts.wooster.edu/cgi-bin/formmail.pl". You must do this to your forms in order for them to work on the new server.)
