It is important that you know your Novell password, as you will need it to access restricted content on the Wooster Web site. The best example of this is the phone directory. You have to enter in your Novell username and password to access this database. This security feature will allow any college member to access restricted information from anywhere, even outside of campus.

Our Web server has a "secure" component to it, meaning there is an area where you can place files so that they are password protected. Protecting copyrighted materials, course materials and other sensitive data are reasons to use the "secure" Web server. You can assign access rights to the materials on the "secure server" on an individual basis, or on a group basis (all students, all faculty, etc.). Access is attained by entering your username and password.

The location where your secure files are located is in the same directory at the HTDOCS folder. In other words, you can find these files inside of WebServ2_VOL1/Apache2/. You can also FTP to access the secure Web server as well.
