CityTREK: BossWOMEN of DC

March 10 - 14, 2018
[Saturday, March 10 pre-departure session; March 11-13 in city; Wednesday, March 14 wrap up session]

Program leaders: Ashleigh Best, Career Planning; Marina Rosales, Center for Entrepreneurship/createHER advisor; Landre McCloud, Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement

Take this opportunity to meet Wooster's vibrant alumnae network in Washington, D.C.! Participants will explore our nation’s capital while meeting with a wide variety women leaders in their organizations and communities. This program will focus on the unique experiences of women in a variety of professional settings and on developing students’ professional skills such as: networking, career research, and navigating a new city. This program is open to all students. Cost: $150.

Children's Literature TREK to Chicago, IL

March 10 - 14, 2018

With Education Department faculty, students on this program will explore literature and media for children and young adolescents at different sites in Ohio and Illinois.  Students will engage with scholars and professionals at Ohio Wesleyan University, the Mazza Museum of Children’s Literature in Findlay, Ohio, the Butler Children’s Literature Center at Dominican University, and the Chicago Public Library.  While in Chicago, the students will have the chance to meet with alumni in the field of children’s literature, but also in other fields during a networking event.  Cost: To Be Announced.

West Virginia Service Program

March 10 - 16, 2018

Program Leaders: Dr. Kammer, Jill Munro, Meg Heller '18, and Maha Rashid '18
A weeklong service trip to Colcord, West Virginia sponsored by the Wooster Volunteer Network. This trip provides an opportunity to do service work, including painting, deck building, and more, while also engaging in reflective group discussions and getting to know new people! Cost: $120 with scholarships available.

Wooster Catholic - Spring Break Trip to Nashville, TN

March 11 - 16, 2018

We are partnering with an organization called C.S.M. which stands for City. Service. Mission. There are unique issues and problems that Nashville faces, we will examine, reflect, and keep those things in mind as we live and serve for a week in Nashville. Participants will be integrated into a variety of hands-on local service opportunities to ensure that time is spent supplying substantive help to the people in the city.  Cost: $225, which is includes everything – transportation, room, board, and a t-shirt.
