Sukriti Chiripal ’24

Sukriti Chiripal

Sukriti Chiripal is graduating from The College of Wooster with dual degrees in economics and psychology. Chiripal’s Independent Study, “The Impact of Exchange Rate Volatility on International Trade,” focused on Indian agricultural trade in the post-liberalization, privatization, and globalization reform era. This work was recognized at the Economics Scholars Program at the Federal Reserve Bank in Cleveland. Additionally, she contributed to diverse research projects examining land use in the developing world and environmental decision-making.

A native of Kolkata, India, Chiripal has been engaged in the Wooster community throughout her college career, leading initiatives as president of Wooster Women and Gender Minorities in Economics and serving multiple years as an APEX Experiential Learning peer advisor and economics peer tutor. She also served as a STEM Zone intern and teaching assistant for economics, participated in the STEM Success Initiative Student Advisory Board, and volunteered for Admissions panels for prospective students.

Beyond the walls of Wooster, Chiripal’s academic journey led her to the University of Oxford for a transformative junior year, studying management economics and business psychology. Other notable milestones in her college career include an APEX Fellowship-supported internship in Financial Risk and Audit at Ernst & Young and a stint with the Capital Markets team at The World Bank, where she honed skills in structured finance, fixed income securities, and global economics.

After graduation, Chiripal’s trajectory will take her back to the Treasury at The World Bank in Washington, D.C., to focus on sustainable finance and managing relationships with bond investors in their Capital Markets and Investments department.
