Where did you grow up?

I am from a suburb of Cleveland, and I am the oldest of three.  Most of my immediate family are still in the Cleveland area.  After graduating from North Olmsted High School, I went to Baldwin-Wallace College (now University), where I studied Sociology and was a diver on the Swimming and Diving Team.  After completing my Bachelors, I headed down to Ohio University to complete my master’s degree in College Student Personnel.  While working on my degree, I was able to gain experience as a Graduate Hall Director at Hocking College.

What brought you to Wooster?

As I was finishing up my degree at Ohio University, I had the opportunity to interview for an Area Coordinator position at The College of Wooster.  I was offered the position, fell in love with the campus and the community, and made Wooster home for almost 20 years.

What inspires you about working with Wooster students? What is your favorite part of your job?

I am always amazed by what Wooster students can research and create through the Independent Study process.  Our students have so many incredible interests and passions.  I learn so much through our interactions.

My favorite part of my job is connecting with students throughout their four years.  Many times, they come into our office with a concern and need help.  Hopefully, we can help them through the situation and give them the resources they need.  We also hope to make a connection so that the student feels comfortable coming back to our office.  We can often build relationships with students, and they end up working for us and staying in touch after they leave Wooster.

Share your favorite book, movie, and musician.

I love to read, and John Grisham is the author who developed this passion.  He remains one of my favorite authors, along with John Green.

Life is busy, so I have not watched much TV or movies since kids came along.  I love to run, so Overcomer has been a recent favorite.

O.A.R. is probably my favorite band, and I am sure that most people have not heard of them.  They were a college band when I was at OU, and we have followed them ever since.  They are amazing live, and we go every year when they come to Cleveland.

Tell us about any important people or creatures in your life.

I am blessed to have lots of important people in my life.  My husband Scott is a 2002 Wooster grad.  We have three daughters who keep us very busy.  We also have a dog who is a boxer/lab mix and a bunny.
