Independent Study Topic

Changing conceptions of health and sanitation in response to the Black Death in 14th century Europe. I will be creating a fictional plague medical journal based on the notes of Medieval physician Guy de Chauliac.

Other Research

  • I participated in AMRE to help create both a physical and online exhibition honoring the College of Wooster's 150th anniversary.
  • While studying abroad in Indonesia, I conducted research on the shifting role of traditional Balinese healers, called Balians, exemplified through the use of coconut oil.
  • I conducted Sophomore Research on the Underground Railroad in Wayne County and presented my findings alongside Dr. Tamika Nunley (Oberlin College) at a Civil War exhibition.
