Areas of Interest

A former professional dancer, actress, director, choreographer, and designer, Suwatana Rockland worked on Industrials, Commercials, Television Shows and Stage Productions. She is also a member of the Costume Society of America. Before moving to Ohio to attend Kent State, she worked in Thailand, Arizona and Colorado.

During her time completing an MFA ain Theatre Studies, with a concentration in Costume Design and Technology at Kent State, she received several awards for her costume designs for dance and theatre productions and completed a two-month residency as guest artist and lecturer for two universities and one performing art high school in Thailand.

In Ohio, Suwatana has worked as a technician and designer, creating costumes for Porthouse Theatre, Players Guild Theatre, Kent State University (Main campus and Stark Campus), the Beck Center,and the union Playhouse Square at the Palace theatre.

She is excited to be working with the students and faculty at The College of Wooster beginning Fall 2020. With an extensive professional career prior to entering academia, she is ready to share her passion for collaboration and student mentorship.
