The purpose of the Moot Court Team is to foster analytical and persuasive communication by participating in simulated legal argumentation. The goal of the Moot Court Team is to promote forensics (speech and debate) as well as analytical and persuasive writing through competitive and non-competitive debate with a focus on the American legal system. The Moot Court Team shall achieve their goals by attending regional and national moot court competitions, holding weekly meetings for writing and debate, and, when possible, sponsoring a regional moot court competition. In an effort to accomplish our goals, we shall abide by the Code of Social Responsibility as it is articulated in the Scot’s Key. Membership of the Moot Court Team is open to any student actively seeking a degree at the College of Wooster. Membership shall be open to any member of the College community regardless of age, sex, race, creed, national origin, handicap, sexual orientation, political affiliation, economic status, or the ability to pay dues, providing the individual expresses a genuine interest.
