Statistical & Data Sciences

The goal of statistical and data sciences is to extract insights from data to make sound decisions, business-related or otherwise.

Students formulate data science questions, use appropriate statistical and data analysis methods, construct computer programs in languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL) and communicate results effectively.

At Wooster, students will explore courses in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Sciences and Computer Science to give them a broad expertise in solving real- world problems.

Because of the interdisciplinary nature of SDS, students will be able to apply techniques learned throughout this program to any discipline of their choosing. To put the icing on the cake, students will have the opportunity to do an internship and a minor from another department, which allows them to practice and sharpen the skills and techniques learned.
