Personal Symptom Monitoring
All staff and faculty who are returning to campus to work must conduct personal symptom monitoring every day before coming to campus. You must be free of ANY symptoms that might indicate COVID-19 infection. If you exhibit symptoms you believe could be COVID-19 related, you should not come to campus/report to work.
Current symptoms for COVID-19 listed by the CDC include one or more of the following:
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Runny nose or new sinus congestion
- Muscle pain
- Sore throat
- New GI symptoms
- New loss of taste or smell
If you have any of these symptoms or if you believe you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please contact your healthcare provider. Please also contact Human Resources (firstname.lastname@example.org; call 330-263-2526) to report your absence and to receive guidance on your return to work. In addition, please let your department or manager know that you are unable to report to work as expected. In the interim, you should wear a facial covering/mask to avoid possible transmission of the virus to others and self-isolate until you have received further guidance from a medical professional.
If your healthcare provider instructs you to be tested, you should remain in isolation until test results return. If your results are negative, your symptoms are improving and you are fever-free for at least three days, you may return to work. Testing at the Longbrake Student Wellness Center is also highly recommended before resuming duties.
If you tested positive for COVID-19, please report so to Human Resources. You will have to be medically cleared to return to work. If you have questions about time off and/or leave policies, you should contact Human Resources for guidance. You should not return to work until:
- At least ten days have passed since symptoms first appeared
- You have been fever-free without fever-reducing medicines for three days
- Your symptoms are improving
- You receive a note from your healthcare provider clearing you to return to work
The earliest you could come back, even if you are fever-free after the first three days, is seven days. This time could be extended if your fever remains or your symptoms do not improve.
