There are many ways Wooster students can get involved in making a different for sustainability. See below for a few options.

Sustainable Living on Campus

College students frequently ask, “what can I do?” Here are a few tips for how you can have a meaningful impact as a Wooster student:

  • Turn things off when you leave your dorm room (TV, lights, computer, etc.)
  • Carpool home on breaks
  • Eat a more plant-rich diet (less meat, more plant proteins)
  • Shop (and donate) at nearby thrift stores
  • Keep the windows closed during winter
  • Use the ScotShare electric vehicles for local errands
  • Clean your plate (less food waste)
  • Be a climate voter
  • When purchasing online, bundle shipments together
  • Take a hike at a local park
  • Advocate for environmental policy by calling your representatives’ offices
  • Volunteer with an environmental group
  • Host an environmentally themed book club, party, or dinner
  • Walk or bike around town instead of driving
  • Start birding – Northern Ohio is a great birding destination
  • Speak up! Let others know the environment is important to you
  • Sign up for a sustainability themed summer TREK
  • Volunteer with the Sustainability Office by emailing Brian Webb
