The College of Wooster’s Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Jeffrey Lindberg, professor of music at Wooster, will perform Friday, March 27, 7:30 p.m. in Freedlander Theatre (329 E. University St.) at The College of Wooster. In addition, Jazz Combos, directed by Lindberg and Greg Slawson, jazz piano instructor at the College, will perform.

Featured guest soloist is tenor saxophonist Pete Mills, a staple with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra and saxophone professor and director of the Jazz Ensemble at Denison College. He has also taught at Kenyon College, East Caroline State University, The Ohio State University, Capital University, and Brandon University in Manitoba. The ensembles will also perform alone; tunes include “Whirlybird” by Neal Hefti and the music of Pastorius/Ellis and Cole Porter. Wooster music major Thea Kwan ’17 will solo in “I’m Travelin’ Light” and “The One I Love.”

Tickets are $5.00 and available at Buehler’s Milltown and Towne Market, Lowry Center Wilson Bookstore, and The Wooster Book Company. Students will be admitted free of charge.
