Wooster Chorus to Perform September 15
Free concert to be held in Gault Recital Hall of Scheide Music Center
WOOSTER, Ohio – The Wooster Chorus, under the direction of Lisa Wong, will present a brief concert on Friday, Sept. 15, at The College of Wooster to open Black and Gold Weekend. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Gault Recital Hall of Scheide Music Center (525 E. University St.) beginning at 4:30 p.m. A reception will follow.
The performance will preview music of the coming year and will feature three choral selections as well as additional solo pieces sung by voice students of Carrie Culver, associate professor of music at Wooster.
Founded in 1964, the Wooster Chorus consists of students representing all academic areas within the College’s liberal arts program. Four-time finalists for the American Prize in Choral Performance, it has been praised for its beautiful sound, high level of artistry, creative programming, and engaging performances. The Wooster Chorus collaborates annually with The Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, and has recently premiered works by Eric Whitacre and Jake Runestad.
