A letter from Dean Brown
On behalf of the Division of Student Affairs, I extend our warmest welcome to Wooster!
Wooster has crafted a remarkable student body, a special group that is not just widely read but widely lived. We all have very high hopes and expectations for our students, and everything we do here is to support you as you discover new experiences and challenges.
This is a special place. You can’t get a Wooster education online or in a city. It is about a sense of place. Out of 168 hours in every week, subtracting hours in class per week, sleep, meals, you have over 80 hours to do everything else like study, work, play sports, be involved!
That is why the sum of a Wooster education is much more than its many and marvelous parts, and everything the Division of Student Affairs does is designed to extend and enhance your classroom experience, in as many ways possible, and in the most personal ways possible.
The Division of Student Affairs helps students “inhabit the gap” between their classroom education and out-of-class experiences, from matriculation to graduation and beyond. We connect students to faculty, to opportunities, to each other, and to the world, which is our honor and joy. Congratulations on joining our community, and welcome!
Please drop by my office hours for coffee and a chat Tuesdays from 1-2 PM and Wednesdays from 4-5 PM during the academic year.
With my warmest wishes,
Scott C. Brown, Ph.D.
