New Student Checklist

Your Admissions deposit indicates that you are now part of Wooster's Class of 2023. Here's what comes next:

First Steps

Two to three business days after you submit your enrollment deposit, you will receive an email from Technology Services with directions for how to set up your Wooster email account. Please do this within 14 days. Need help with your email? Contact the helpdesk at 330-287-4857.

Register for ARCH

Select the June ARCH session that works best for you. ARCH is a 2-day event beginning at 10:00 AM on Day 1, concluding at 1:00 PM on Day 2. Students attending ARCH 1-4 will stay in campus housing for each session for one night. Students attending ARCH 5 will stay in their fall residence hall assignment. All students stay overnight on campus during ARCH. Can’t attend ARCH 1-4? Email ARCH

While International students may attend ARCH 1-4, we recognize that you travel a great distance to be with us. An August session (ARCH 5) is available for International students just before the start of the semester. Transfer students should plan to attend ARCH 5 as we have specific programming to meet your unique needs.

Families have their own customized schedule with sessions that introduce The College of Wooster’s mission, academic programs, and resources. We encourage parents and guardians to attend, but it is not required. Childcare is not provided.

Reserve airport transportation to and from ARCH

To reserve a spot on the shuttle from either Cleveland (CLE) or Akron (CAK) airports, please visit our transportation website.

Make lodging reservation for families attending ARCH

Students attending ARCH 1-4 will stay one night in a college residence hall. Students attending ARCH 5 will stay in their fall residence hall assignment.

Families who are attending ARCH may want to stay at any one of the local lodging options, including bed-and-breakfasts and national chains.

Prior to June 1, all students must take placement exams

This 30-minute assessment will help you discover, understand, and maximize your unique strengths. You will use your personalized results during ARCH sessions. You will create a new account using your College of Wooster email address. You should complete the assessment in one sitting, as it is timed with no opportunity to start over or retake.

The Housing Application will be available in April. In the meantime, if you have any questions about living on campus or what you should plan to bring check out the first year move in information in Residence Life.

Additional Steps

Once you have completed the student health form (.pdf), please email it to the Wellness Center. The form may also be mailed to Longbrake Student Wellness Center, 570 E. Wayne Ave., Wooster, OH 44691. Please include a copy of your insurance card with the Health Form.

Please fill out and sign the FERPA release form (.pdf) and email it to the Dean of Students Office. You may mail it, fax it to 330-263-2094, or email it to the Dean of Students. The Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records, both financial and academic. For the student’s protection, FERPA limits release of student record information without the student’s explicit written consent; however, it also gives the student’s parent(s)/guardian the right to review those records if the parent(s)/guardian claim the student as a dependent on their federal income tax return.

The information requested on this public information questionnaire will be used in the production of media releases about your activities and accomplishments during the next four years at The College of Wooster. If you prefer that no releases be sent, you may indicate that on the form.You will need to log in with your Wooster username and password.

Please follow the directions to submit contact information including your cell phone number, non-Wooster email, home phone, and alternative emergency contact, such as a parent or other family member. This information will NOT be used for general announcements, only for emergency notifications.
